General Common problems in Otolaryngology (Ear Nose and Throat surgery) include glue ear and hearing issues, sore throats and tonsillitis and blocked noses and poor breathing.
Otology Otology refers to ear function and care of the ears. Common procedures performed for the ear include microscope examination and suction, removal of wax, hearing testing, insertion of ventilation tubes (grommets), and repair of the ear drum.
Rhinology Rhinology refers to nasal function and care of the nose. Common procedures performed for the nose include rhinoscopy, nasendoscopy, cautery of the septum and septoplasty.
Laryngology Laryngology refers to function of the voicebox and throat and care of the voicebox and throat.
Head and Neck Head and neck care may include any aspect of ENT care but usually refers to management of growths or cancer of the head and neck. Procedures that may be performed include removal of salivary glands stones or tumours.
